Nokia and Microsoft certainly do like to do these night shot comparisons. The test was done using the default settings of all 3 phones.

How do photos taken by the Samsung Galaxy SIII and iPhone 5 stack up to the Nokia Lumia 920? Windows Phone put them to the test by taking photos with the three phones at the same time.
All the photos were taken with default settings under the same lighting conditions without a flash. None of the photos were retouched (except to add the captions.)
Share the GIF: http://windowsphone.tumblr.com/post/5…
And check out more smartphone camera tests on Tumblr:http://windowsphone.tumblr.com
See why now’s the time to switch to the Nokia Lumia 920: Engadget Reader’s Choice Smartphone of the Year:http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/cmp…]
Get ready for what may be the best photos and videos you’ve taken with a smartphone. The Nokia Lumia 920 brings Optical Image Stabilization, 8 MP PureView technology, and incredible photo and video software—all to Windows Phone 8. It’s #timetoswitch.

EOS to feature 41MP sensor, possibly thinner than Lumia 920, xenon flash... what not to like?

Some a bit shaky EOS rumors, but that’s what this rumor section is for!
Mobile Geeks is reporting that EOS will indeed sport 41MP sensor with xenon flash.
Like predicted on many other EOS rumors, the camera UI will be totally redesigned and will be branded as Nokia ProCamera. With it comes circular on screen dial controls, DSLR like sound effects as you go through the UI and manual mode for pro’s. For video recording you will have 3 different frame rates to select on HD and 720p. EOS 4.5-inch display features the familiar 1280×720 resolution.

Nokia wanting to keep the phone as slim as possible has made people doubt Nokia would use the same 41MP module used on 808 PureView. Mobile Geeks does not confirm it is indeed the same sensor, but Nokia has supposedly achieved “engineering miracle” hiding the sensor size resulting the phone to possibly be thinner than Lumia 920. Phone taper towards its extremities to hide the whole sensor.

According to Mobile Geeks EOS will be released second week of July, likely July 9.

Jolla has already seen some visibility in the Chinese market as Marc Dillon had air time on front of 40 million viewers in China.

Steve Lau is the man to go for if you want success in China. He was part of the spearhead team that made Nokia big in China in the 90′s and now holds position of chairman of the board on China Fortune. Steve Lau has put down around 1 million euros to Jolla, that gives him 6.25% share of the company. He was also the man partly behind Jolla getting its phone to major Chinese retailer D.Phone with over 1300 stores.

Steve Lau talks about the possibilities Chinese market offers with 350 million smartphone buyers, of which 40% will buy new smartphone in years time. You can also add 100 million current dumb phone owners that are switching to smartphones every year.

Jolla has already seen some visibility in the Chinese market as Marc Dillon had air time on front of 40 million viewers in China. Jolla’s hardware announcement saw 150 000 views on Tudou.
Lau bases his optimism to Chinese Xiaomi manufacturer, that came out of nowhere and is now selling 1 million phones every month and 72% of those sales come directly from Xiaomi’s own site.
Jolla is still looking at partnering with operator in China and has one certain operator in mind. Even so, Lau still believes online sales to be the natural route at first for the target audience. He predicts that 50% of Jolla’s sales will come from China, something that doesn’t sound far fetched.

HERE Maps brand new update brings you new Live Sight feature.

HERE Maps brand new update brings you new Live Sight feature. So what is Live Sight all about?

3D sight interface: buildings are detected by our collection technologies with high accuracy and feeling of depth

Line of sight: with the line of sight view, only POIs in sight are displayed

Freeze frame: save a live view to inspect the city without having to hold the camera pointed at the target

How is HERE better with LiveSight?

HERE uses sight navigation as a new way to discover and find your way through the world. Sometimes pins on a map are not quite enough, LiveSight uses sight to recognize and identify places around you simply, by looking around through your phone’s display.

In HERE Maps, LiveSight allows you to pinpoint exactly where you’re going just by looking. Just open HERE Maps, tap the LiveSight icon and pan around. LiveSight reveals shops, restaurants and your favourite places as virtual signs on buildings right on your screen.

Keeping up with the offline moniker Live Sight will also work in offline.

Neither us or Jolla knows the exact parts put to the device.

We do not know the exact specifications of Jolla phone, even as pre-orders are up for Jolla and we had our big launch today. Screen resolution likely wont change and we know the memory will be 16GB + MicroSD, dual core processor and real LTE support, but we do not know the screen specifications and exact SoC the phone will carry or amount of RAM. The reason looks to simply be that not even Jolla exactly knows the final hardware.

We’re leaving some of those details out because we do understand that there are a lot of really big players in the market and they tend to take certain components in the market and dominate them. We created the ability to actually be able to run Sailfish on multiple hardware displays and be able to swap components, so this is part of the demand and supply planning phase. We are committed to this industrial design which is a 4.5-inch display, an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a front-facing camera at the front, and the exact specs of the display we’ll provide when we’re close to delivery.

- Pocketnow

Many were confused by the Estrada term used on the Jolla specification list. Estrada is not actually one more screen branding, but just describes the vertical core UI.

Some people have been crying for QWERTY keyboard and Jolla does throw a bone to fans, though to me it does sound like nothing is truly being planned right now by Jolla itself. Interpret the below as you will.

P: I’m sure you’re aware that one of the biggest other-half possibilities we’ve heard, on Twitter and in comments, is one that supports a physical QWERTY keyboard. Is that a possibility?

MD: I have a big smile on my face! The sky is the limit, and the imagination is the limit for what can be done with the other-half.

P: That speaks to the entire kind of brand push for Jolla, right? Community involvement and collaboration instead of standing alone to create something new.

MD: That’s exactly right. We did this by working together. The whole idea has been of working in collaboration. We’re completely open to doing things with lots of different kinds of communities in order to create new functions, new abilities and new other halves for the device. Of course the community has been supporting our development the whole time.

We knew Vodafone UK was getting 32GB Lumia 925, but now Vodafone Germany has also confirmed they will be getting 32GB Lumia 925 and not just that, it’s the only version you can get the phone. There is also talks of T-Mobile Germany getting 32GB version.

http://www.vodafone.de/privat/angebote-aktuelles/nokia-lumia-925.html

9xx series phone at least deserves 32GB option readily available globally with other storage (even with the fix) and OS taking their space, even as all wont need the space.
