Talk about future Nokia’s and more specialized devices

Slashgear did a mega interview with Ahtisaari, Harlow and Pannenbecker. interview runs down many of the Nokia concepts like Project Glass, Nokia Frame.
Much of the discussion circulates around the phrase “heads up” that Ahtisaari introduced inside Nokia. Idea being that you are not forced to constantly look at the screen of your device, theme Ahtisaari has been very vocal since Lumia 800 announcement. Ahtisaari, Harlow and Pannenbecker are quiet about the solutions, but do mention that wearable devices might not be the actual solution.

Wearable computer doesn’t necessarily address either user-need nor go far enough in liberating users from the tyranny of persistent, connected distraction.about the solutions, but do mention that wearable devices might not be the actual solution.

We have seen plenty of great ideas from Nokia way before they have appeared. Some of Nokia’s 2006 concepts were spot on on how touch user interfaces are now in 2013. We have also seen things like Haptikos working prototypes back in 2007. What Nokia really needs to improve is the execution and bringing these great ideas to the mass market.

That brings us to devices we might see soon. One of the most promising changes seems to be the return of dedicated devices. Devices that do something extraordinarily well. Think of devices like N82, N93 and N91 from the past. Devices in their core are very much standardized these days, with the brand and packaging really being the main difference.
You simply would never expect to see manufacturer making phone with just such a specialized hardware like N91 for example, that had Harman Kardon amplifier, 8GB hard driver in 2006, host of supported codecs and custom made Toshiba chip geared towards sound quality.

Nokia differs in some respects in how its management see the form-factor of those devices: rather than a single, increasingly powerful phone in your pocket, all three VPs talked about a resurgence in dedicated devices; products that, as Marco Ahtisaari described it, “do a few things really well. – Slashgear

I would example be ecstatic to see compact device with high resolution screen, best CPU available for the platform, okish camera sensor and very much specialized hardware for sound quality through 3.5mm jack. I would be more than happy to pay Lumia 920 like money for that.
