8 things Microsoft needs to fix on Windows Phone 8 right now by WPCentral

Windows Phone is starting to get into a mature age and while most of us are quite comfortable with the app quality and quantity now, there’s still huge amount of improvements needed on the core itself.
I hope the Windows phone community can also make these more apparent in the discussions and demand them, rather than just shunning the “outsiders”. I’m sure anybody who has been part of Symbian communities around 2009 know what kind of circle hug stuff that all was.

I’ll just quote the 8 main points by WPCentral first. You can read the whole thing from here.

  • 1 Notification Center
  • 2 Universal Search
  • 3 Instagram
  • 4 ‘X’ to Close Apps
  • 5 Better Xbox Gaming
  • 6 Folders
  • 7 Independent volume and profiles
  • 8 Fix Xbox Music and Video

Something i would wanna add on the above (that i all agree) is the faster implementation of new system on chips. On Windows Phone 7 it was so bad that it limited Windows Phones to have no variation or hardware innovation at all. Windows Phone 8 high end phones had a better start and with the new kernel, things should be more flexible, but should is not enough. We need to see it.

What would you add to the list?

If the Nokia supply shortages are related to socs, broader soc compatibility should have been nr 1 issues from the beginning. There could be othet reasons, why it is not happening faster. MS and Qualcomm CEOs seem to be in very good terms.
