The news here is that Nokia finalized it’s sale of Vertu subsidiary to investment firm EQT VI. Vertu is maker of super expensive S40 and Symbian phones where the above 4000€ prices go more towards the materials and concierge service. Nokia will still hold 10% of the Vertu
Now lets get to the rumor part of this story. First Vertu will in future use Android, instead of Symbian. Something that sounds more than understandable as Vertu gets to customize the UI, extensive hardware support and huge library of apps. So there you go people, those who have been wanting Nokia to make Android phone, you kind of get that with Nokia still owning part of Vertu.
The more surprising part of this two part rumor is that the CEO of Vertu could end up being Anssi Vanjoki, man that was supposed to be CEO of Nokia. Combine that with the likely Android rumor above and what comes to your mind?
Going for Android would be like peeing in your pants during the winter months for warmth; the temporary relief acquired is soon followed by a larger issue. – Anssi vanjoki
We might be going full circle here.
