Members of Finnish Association of Stock Investors demand Elop to be fired

It’s not the first time you hear the demands for Elop the be fired. This time it comes from a people that at least have ever so slight influence to Nokia.

Timo Rothovius, Chairman of Finnish Association of Stock Investors has received overwhelming amount of demands from their members for Elop to be fired thanks to the strategy they change that they deem to have been failed.

Equity investors have been required to collect power of attorney required to organize an extraordinary general meeting. – Timo Rothovius

Rothovius wants to remind investors that Elop is enjoying full support from the Board of Directors and it’s Board of Directors inside Nokia that are accountable for strategy.

Since Elop enjoys the full support of the Board of Directors, it’s the Board of Directors that would need to be changed. - Timo Rothovius

Something that in the current situation would add more harm than good.
Rothovius also thinks that leaving MeeGo was the right decision. It will be seen was taking Windows Phone the right thing to do though.

Fire him, then who will replace him? and what is the new strategy once you fire him?

New strategy? BACK TO THE ROOTS! And I don’t mean reviving Maemo/Meego but starting to produce tires again :-)

Seriously, you are right. Nokia made self-destructive decisions long before Elop took the place of CEO. To fire him now would be really stupid, cause it would be like nobody within Nokia believing in the success of the new “all or nothing” strategy.

You are absolute correct. People who just see the Cash signs with no real solutions to offer.

I believe many would wanna see Nokia going for Android, not me.

But yeah this is silly. At this point when they are actually starting to execute the plan they would fire Elop and take another 2-3 years of panic mode building new strategy. Something Nokia can’t do anymore.

In short it’s people that have lost a lot of money just blowing air out of their lungs. They know just as well that it would be madness to fire Elop now, not to even talk about Board of Directors.
Business is just as much mind game as it’s numbers. Like Zymo said, Nokia would seem like total headless chicken for investors going for another strategy once again. I think we have had enough of those.

There are some of us who do not want a RIM, IOs, or android phone, I like to have a wp, symbian or meego phone, like to see them developed well. Elop, not that I am a big fan of his but I think we need to give him more time to fix the nonsense Nokia, decided to follow for a least a decade. When it comes to planning any one with half a Brain can do so but there are a handful of people who can execute, plans the correct way. That is just in general, in the technology world it even gets more difficult because the industry moves so fast.

I think it was a mistake to get rid of Symbian and meego but that is another story just like the nonsense of wp7.5 (CE) vs wp8 (NT). I feel that most of the people from the outside fail to see how technology should drive this company and not the other stupid distractions. The Nokia 808, is a good product, could have been a great product but then again we get the company politics getting in the way again. Just compare that phone to the 900 or the N9, the quality of phones have improved compared to the N97 but once again Nokia shoots itself.

Release two phones n9 and n900 and then no longer have future developments for them, this is just so silly, (ignore wp7.8 since it will never be wp8) I have seen pictures of the new phones coming out from Nokia wp8 and to me it just looks the same as wp7 phones, what is wrong with other members of Nokia? Elop, cannot do every thing himself, CEO or not CEO it is a team effort.

And why do people at Nokia, always talk about new technology and then say it is coming soon? why not bother telling us until the product is actually ready?
