Nokia Suite 3.5 (Beta) adds N9 support

Nokia Suite 3.5 Beta was already released couple of months ago but for some reason Nokia wants to remind us N9 users about the update adding N9 support.  Nokia Suite 3.5 is still in beta.

Nokia Suite 3.5.21 Beta available

New functionality in 3.5 release:

  • Copy content between your Nokia N9 and your computer
  • Get important improvements and fixes for many problems

With Nokia Suite you’re able to download map data for Nokia Maps on your device. This is perfect if you’re planning a getaway and don’t want to get lost while you’re there. Plug in your Nokia Belle or Nokia N9 smartphone and side load all the map data you need onto your phone.

There’s also the ability to send text messages right from your PC by hitting the SMS icon at the top of the screen. Imagine, you’re at work and you’ve plugged your Nokia Belle or Nokia N9 into your PC to charge and sync and a text comes in. You can read that text and reply to it using the computer, saving you time and the need of picking up your phone and using it. – Nokia Conversations

This is surprising given their prevailing pattern of behavior for the past 6mth or so, refreshing change.

      That’s why i posted this.
I have most likely covered this 2 months ago but was taken so off guard seeing N9 related news on the front page of Nokia Conversations. :)

I stopped using the Nokia Suite for my N9′s mainly because after connecting to Nokia Suite, I could no longer open pictures using 3rd party apps (myExplorer, FileBox).

Installing maps from the suite is a welcome feature. But how come downloading/installing apps from the Store is still not supported for the N9?

Haven’t had that issue, but I saw someone else mention it & they explained a fix, alas I cant recall it OTTOMH :-/
It is still only a beta, I imagine support for the the few missing things will be added eventually…
Then again they may not, best way to find out would be to ask at beta labs, but they may not give you a straight answer.
