Nokia not to have ARM Windows 8 tablet by Q4 2012 says China Times

According to China Times there will be only 5 manufacturers launching Windows 8 WOA (ARM) tablets this year and non of them are Nokia.
Each of the major ARM chipset vendors for Windows 8 WOA could only chose 2 manufacturers at most.
NVIDIA: Lenovo and Asus Texas Instruments: Toshiba Qualcomm : Samsung and HP.

This goes against what we have heard from Ahtisaari, Executive Vice President in Nokia who said already back in March that third of his time is taken up by work on the new tablet.

Also @MS_nerd who is quite known of his Microsoft leaks claimed back in June that Nokia is one of the premier WOA tablet partners.

There isn’t much of other sources yet agreeing with China Times, so lets hope Nokia will be launching it’s tablet before years end. It would certainly be a slap in the face from Microsoft if true.

Maybe Nokia tablet will be x86?

Did think about it, but somehow hard to believe thinking Nokia’s tight history on ARM. Still, could be.
I would be fine with both.

IF this rumor is true Texas Instrument is still missing second partner. Either they can’t produce enough of chips in Q4 or maybe they could be in talks with Nokia.

Rumors are ging that the second partner could be Dell, but I’m still hoping it’s Nokia. Yeah a slap in the face from Microsoft plus another bullet in the foot from Nokia itself. It would be nice to see a x86 Nokia tablet and perfect if it had a physical keyboard as Windows Surface’s. Ok I should stop dreaming with opened eyes…
