Microsoft’s big Worldwide Partner Conference is going on in Montreal and while there are likely much more of announcements incoming, today we had one big one, even if it was expected announcement from Microsoft.
Windows 8 will be ready for release to manufacturing (RTM) the first week of August. It’s consumers release date happening in October we are interested as device manufacturers will then start shipping their Windows 8 hardware (including Windows 8 RT/Windows 8 on ARM).
Tami went on to say that Windows 8 will reach general availability by the end of October! This means that new Windows 8 and Windows RT PCs will be available to buy and upgrades will be available starting in October. She also mentioned that that Windows 8 will be available in 109 languages across 231 markets worldwide. – windowsteamblog
