808 PureView finally here!

Finding 808 PureView at this time was way harder than i would have ever expected month ago. Needed to be persistent to go around shops in greater Helsinki area and a bit of luck at appearing to right shop just 1 hour after they had received 2 black and one white 808 PureView. Again, 808 PureView is one hard phone to find in Finland at the moment.

This is not preview, more like the first couple of hours of hyped up excitement of your new gadget toy.

Size

The very first thing that i kind of knew was going to happen after you have been told time after time that 808 PureView is fat by reviews. It feels very compact, actually my first thought after picking the phone was that it felt thinner than Lumia 800.

Materials

Continuing on how the phone feels on your hand we get to polycarbonate build of 808 PureView. It’s not unibody construction like N9, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900, yet because of the magic Nokia has done to the surface of the polycarbonate shell 808 feels even more high end with that weight and spotless build quality. Somebody compared the surface of 808 to aluminium used on N8 with slightly more texture, i agree.
Nokia’s product managers hinted on Finnish Lumia 800 release event that on polycarbonate they will continue to play more with the surface of the material and bring more textures on the future products, seems like they did just that on 808 PureView.

Camera

Honestly, what can i say. It’s not a coincidence that every people who have picked 808 PureView are posting pictures taken with it everyday on social media .  You are excited to take pictures with it and wanna play with the functions. Awesome, awesome cameras that has plenty of reviews and photos to prove it. Replaced my 700 euros video camera from 2008 on NokiaGadgets.

Sound Quality

This is also pure gold on 808 PureView. Easily the best sound quality through 3.5mm jack of any current high end Nokia phone, N8 following as a close second. Something Nokia really needs to up on their Lumia phones, gone backwards there badly. Like i have said on my reviews this wont really be a problem for those who just use the boxed headphones and poor quality music.

Numbers don’t tell everything, yet GSMarena’s measurements do paint a right picture on just how awesome the sound quality is. If somebody knows good music player on Symbian Belle that plays flac, please let me know on comments.
