Rdio – Music streaming app to get for your Lumia phone

Rdio is nothing really special compared to Spotify or the others on paper, yet i find myself using it all the time. I have big collection of CD’s and CD quality of music so paying around 10 euros a month for this kind of unlimited music streaming service hasn’t yet caught me. To me they are about finding new music, why i love Pandora.
Core of it all is the  back end where the magic happens matching that music, Rdio is next to Pandora the only one that seems to find the songs, great songs by really small names and big names i find.

Search is also just right, lets you search albums, songs and artists, found everything i have thrown at it and that can’t be said about 90% of the other similar services.

No ads.

Enjoy music the way it was intended to be heard — no interruptions and no advertisements. Ever.

15 million and counting…

Sometimes only a certain song will do. Rdio has a huge library of music, from popular artists to hot newcomers, and every single track is playable on demand as many times as you want.

Search for anything.

Rdio makes it easy to find what you’re looking for, whether it’s an artist, album, song or playlist. And finding friends or people who can help you discover great new music is just as simple.

Sync music to your phone or tablet.

No service? No problem. Sync tracks over wi-fi to your mobile device so your music can go places your reception can’t — no cables or plugging into a computer required.

The more you follow, the more you find.

Find what to listen to next by following friends, tastemakers, influential critics and artists themselves. Check out your network’s most popular albums or explore curated playlists.

SUBSCRIBE

Subscribe to your favorite playlists and they will be bookmarked for quick access. You’ll also get notifications whenever new songs are added, so you can watch them evolve over time.

There’s boat loads of more features in Rdio, all that you can find from your very nicely put together app on Windows Phone (picture above is an old version of the WP app). There’s some slight lag at the times when you are furiously going trough the music lists and whatnot, but in general the app is smooth.

Definitely go for the trial version first on the Windows Phone Marketplace that lasts 7 days and has all the features, then if you like what you see (and hear) get the Web version costing €4.99 a month or Unlimited that gives you unlimited mobile streaming. Unlimited costs €9.99 a month.

For fellow audio junkies Rdio has not revealed the quality they are streaming the audio, but it seems like there is variation between songs in that front from what you can read from their answers. I have found the sound quality overall to be great.
