Nokia N9 getting the much waited PR1.3 “soon” (more to come)

A bit surprisingly Nokia’s official Philippines Twitter account posted the following tweet today.

The Nokia N9 will get a small but valuable update to PR1.3 soon. We will keep you updated! :) - NokiaPH

That small but valuable update could mean anything, quite large UI change but not much more, bug fixes and improved performance? Nothing solid yet to really make guesses.

Dared from maemo.org talk sent a email to Nokia about future N9 updates and got the following, fairly positive message.

I am pleased to confirm that we will continue to support N9. We will be putting out another SW release and even after that there will be support as needed.

Konttori had mentioned that he had been working on PR1.3 before he joined Nokia’s Windows Phone team, so it sounds likely that we will see maybe one more larger scale update after PR1.3.

      PR1.3 is given, nothing solid about PR1.4 yet.
      Hopefully true indeed! N9 deserves all the support it can get.

    konttori didn’t join WP team, he joined MP, WP sits underneath or to the side of MP.
    Much of the work he does in MP will benefit WP, or other sections of Nokia (what’s left of them).
