Rumor: Leaked screenshots of Windows Phone 8, real or not?

Here’s some supposedly leaked images of upcoming Windows Phone 8 by Nokia Innovation. Pictures that i got a say do look quite messed up with the aspect ration and low quality. Huge thing on Windows Phone 8 will be that it will move away from the underlying code of the WP7.x that had Windows Embedded Compact that was the source of many limitations, like example how it handles memory cards as part of the memory pool rather than separate. Having impact on performance and reason why you don’t see pretty much no device using memory cards on Windows Phone side.
Where most of us have no idea are possible visual changes of Windows Phone 8, “Apollo”.

First we have Datasmart apps that gives you more detailed information of your data usage, even how one specific app uses data.

Next one is lenses and the camera app that is customizable by the manufacturers on Windows Phone (waiting for those Nokia WP8 PureView devices). According to WPcentral that button on the bottom of camera app will be for lenses function, what is it all about? No idea.

The home screen seems to be unchanged according to these pictures.

Next we have the much waited deeper Skype integration on Windows Phone 8 that will be more of a system feature than separate app, like on N900 but with more functions like video calls. Lastly we have picture of Nokia Maps  showing live traffic information and re-routing.

While all looks fine and dandy i really hope the home screen will move to be more versatile and i know many others are waiting this as well. People need a bit more customization and functions on the home screen. Pictures from the Nokia Innovation are very messy with different aspect ratios and really, photoshopping Windows Phone UI isn’t exactly the hardest thing to do. It should not take long as Windows Phone event will be just couples of days away (June 20), event where we just might see first official pictures of Windows Phone 8.
