Some very interesting pictures from Baidu forums. First we have Nokia 311 that appears to be RM-714.
Like the numbering tells it’s low end phone with BL-4U battery (1000 mAh), battery found from example Nokia 500. The device really isn’t the interesting part here, it’s manual that was leaked. Possibility revealing us the basic UI functions of Meltemi.
For starters you have 3 home screens. App screen and my screen are given to you, the third one you can have as dialler, music player or radio.
We all probably are familiar with app view. What it does imply is that apps will be more in a forefront compared to S40. Bringing Nokia’s low end further away from dumb phones.
My screen raises a bit more questions. Will it actually be widget space or is it simply shortcut view?
Will there be multitasking similar to WP or iOS? Is the swipe used more on the UI? How will you close the apps? Will all Meltemi phones have capacitive touch screens?
This is nice to see. Drop down menu is nowadays found from pretty much any popular mobile OS there is and now it’s finding it’s way to the very low end.
This isn’t of course given that what we are looking here is swipe, it could be newer version of S40, but still not Meltemi. As for the pictures being real, it certainly has the Nokia manual style and it was leaked from baidu forums that has been very solid at leaking Nokia phones.
