White Lumia 800 confirmed, coming to Australia in March

White N9

Nokia confirmed on it’s Lumia 800 press release for Australia that white Lumia 800 exists and Australia is so far the first country confirmed to get it.

Sydney, Australia – 30th January 2012. The first Nokia with Windows Phone – the Nokia Lumia 800 – will be sold in Australia through Optus, Telstra, Vodafone and all major retailers from March. – Nokia Press

Available in black, blue (Cyan), pink (Magenta) and white, the Nokia Lumia 800 delivers a great all-round smartphone experience combining Nokia’s strength in design, navigation and camera quality with the latest Windows Phone experiences which include out-of-the-box integrated social networking, access to Marketplace apps and Xbox gaming.

It’s not clear if this is the glossy white available for N9 or matte white. Thinking Nokia went for the trouble to add new kind of coating and make the manufacturing for it, i’m willing to bet that it will be glossy white. Myself a huge fan of the glossy white N9, so i hope Lumia 800 will retain the exact same coating.

It’s also possible that the white Lumia 800 will be seen earlier on countries with Lumia 800 already selling. Swiss retailer, MobileZone reported couple of days ago to have white Lumia 800 in mid-February.

And yet for mths they’ve been refusing to say if they’ll bring in the white N9.
Long before they could even know if it was doing well or bad.
And marketing stopped about 8wkss ago now… the list goes on.
    Absolute arseholes…..

In 6mth+ the argument will be rock-solid, people will be saying:

“How on earth could a phone that’s selling so badly be the future for Nokia?
Look at how well the L800 and 900 have been selling, are you crazy?”

I don’t think there’s no way Nokia can replace Symbian sales with WP this year, it’s simply not happening.

Though rather than worrying about the marketshares, just pick the phone you like. Be it N9, Lumia, Samsung, whatever. That’s what i did from 2008 till 2011 (N900 being there in the middle).

I myself do like that Nokia went for WP. Like i have said too many times to count, i was still far from happy that Nokia abandoned Maemo altogether. They are dropping one of the most fresh UI there is since iOS.

I was referring to the rate at which unit sales are growing
I realise it won’t replace Symbian sales this year.
