Rumor: Some new info about Lumia 900

I got some updates about Lumia 900/Ace from the same source i have quoted previously here. As far specifications go, it looks like this now:

  • 16GB and 32GB versions
  • Front Facing camera
  • 4.3″ Clear Black Display
  • 125.5 x 65.8 x 9 mm
  • 8mpx camera with single LED
  • LTE

Surprisingly the Lumia 900 prototype was running on some not yet seen version of Mango where LTE was active and was working on the prototype. Doesn’t necessarily mean that the final version of the phone will come with Mango, actually it’s still more likely that the phone will come Tango on-board. It will be similar to Lumia 800 design wise, even same button placements and SIM tray, 3.5mm jack, Micro-USB can be found from the same place as on Lumia 800 and it continues to have the same unibody design.  It will be quite a bit wider than Lumia 800 though.

Nokia is also working to bring it’s own Video Call app to Windows Phone Tango that it wants to make pre-loaded on to it’s Windows Phones, same goes for Nokia’s own image tweaking app that’s ready to go already.

AT&T has been ready to take Lumia 900 to testing, but Nokia hasn’t yet ready to give the phone. Lumia 900 was going to be announced in CES, if it passed AT&T testing first. Will this mean Nokia wont have the Lumia 900 for testing in time or is there enough of lead time so this delay wont matter? Lets hope it’s the latter.

Again reminder that there’s a reason why this is in a rumor section. Why i’am posting about this at all is that the source has proven himself before.

Lets hope so. This is the kind of phone Nokia needs if it really wants to get things going in U.S.

Many People in the good old USA are waiting to buy the  Nokia lumia 800 when they are up fpr sale in the States. Now that Americans know that the Nokia 900 will have the same award winning
Smart phone body design as the Lumia 800 but with a 4.3 amoled screen smiles are going up all over the place.the only weakness we see in this smartphone is it’s lack of a front facing camera
for those who are into video chating on their smart phones. To the American People who for personal security reason donot want a front facing camera on their smart phone the Nokia 900 will be the best of the Windows 7.5 mango smart phones out there period! if the camera is better than the Nokia Lumia 800 which was it’s weak point during tests. My congratulation goes to Nokia

Hmm, still not really gunna blow away any competition.
That’s def. not going to happen till Apollo+, assuming it does.

Aye, if it’s gonna happen, it’s gonna happen with Apollo (that world beater phone that is). This would again be “enough” and a phone that can compete especially in the Windows space. Still the justification over GS2 for example needs to be found from the UI and design. Device as a whole wont be better than GS2.

Btw i would gather you know quite a bit of the RM-680 history. If you remember the origins of the MeeGo phones internal names, you might know who is leaking this info.

        Sorry mate….
I can’t recall the source/s of those internal names for the Maemo6x phones.
It was coming “thick & fast” (particularly in in Q2) from so many different sources. And much of it was just plain wrong…
