PR1.1.1 for N9 appears in Navifirm, available via OTA

It seems like this new update (22.2011.44-2) is most of all meant to add arabic virtual keyboard. Keeping that in mind this being available in Navifirm and via OTA only in Middle east and Africa variants of N9 isn’t much of a surprise.

Though people who have updated via OTA or Navifirm in MEA are reporting that the following apps are being updated separately after the update as well: User Guide, Twitter, Store, Real Football 2011, Ovi Music, NFS Shift, Galaxy on Fire 2, AP Mobile, and Angry Birds Free.

As of now, I have noticed some visual and performance improvements in Facebook and Twitter (including photo upload). Visual improvements are also visible in the Messages app, plus some performance improvement in the general UI. I will have to use the mobile some more over the next few days to observe the improvements. – mobility.com.ng

I would stay away from updating this update if you are living outside of the MEA area and even if you are it seems like the OTA update has gone live already. Remember that you can’t rollback the updates.

Do you mean that PR1.1 is available for MEA product codes?

This is basically the same as 1.1 (which also updated apps, among other things), except that it also brings better Arabic support.

Is it a carrier branded N9?
If it is you’ll have to wait till your carrier’s ready to push an update.
It could be forever or never, or it could be quite quick.
If it’s carrier branded (locked) & you don’t want to wait.
Look at the methods here for doing it yourself:

it’s not branded and I don’t want to wait but flasher options are against the warranty I assume. I guess I’ll wait a little bit more but the information that OTA for MEA phones does not seem to be correct for me.

            no idea sorry.
if you dont want to wait just do it yourself.

most do without issue, some have done it without issue dozens of times already.

FW releases are country and operator specific. If Arabic is not used in your country, this update might not ever even go live, neither is there much of a reason to flash your phone then. OTA updates have been reported in the region, but it’s still unclear what exact countries have received it.
